NASA astronauts prove that sending an email really is rocket science

As the Artemis II mission prepares for its historic journey to the moon, NASA’s astronauts have already encountered a series of unexpected challenges even before their launch. This mission, marking the first moon expedition in fifty years, faced various technical difficulties including hydrogen and helium leaks as well as issues with a faulty heat shield. Now, orbiting above Earth, the crew is confronting a new adversary: Microsoft Outlook. During the initial day of their ten-day mission, Commander Reid Wiseman reached out to Mission Control for assistance with his personal computing device, a Microsoft Surface Pro. The problem? Two instances of Outlook were running simultaneously, and neither was functioning properly. Wiseman humorously noted, "I also see that I have two Microsoft Outlooks, and neither one of those are working. If you want to remote in and check Optimus and those two Outlooks, that would be awesome." Mission Control quickly got to work, and soon provided Wiseman with encouraging updates. After remotely accessing his device, they confirmed they had resolved the issues with both the Optimus software and Outlook, although the latter would remain offline temporarily. While you may wonder what astronauts actually need to email about while in space, the situation became even more complex shortly after launch when a malfunction was reported with their onboard toilet. NASA spokesperson Gary Jordan explained, "The toilet fan is reported to be jammed. Now the ground teams are coming up with instructions on how to get into the fan and clear that area to revive the toilet for the mission." Fortunately, backup waste management systems are in place, ensuring that the crew will not have to deal with any unsanitary conditions during their voyage. NASA's top engineers successfully tackled both the Outlook and toilet issues, proving their capability in overcoming the hurdles of space travel. If they can manage these challenges, navigating around the moon should certainly be within their reach. However, it might be best to leave personal tech support inquiries for another day, as Mission Control is undoubtedly occupied with the mission at hand. Neither NASA nor Microsoft has commented on these incidents.
