Jimmy Donaldson, widely recognized as MrBeast, is gearing up to make waves in the telecommunications sector with plans to launch his own mobile phone company in the coming year. A report from Business Insider revealed details from an investor presentation that indicates MrBeast and his company, Beast Industries, are considering establishing a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). This approach would enable them to offer mobile services by utilizing the infrastructure of established carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon. This innovative strategy allows MrBeast to bypass the hefty costs associated with building a telecom network from scratch, positioning him to provide attractive pricing in a competitive market. This tactic has proven successful for other celebrity ventures, such as Ryan Reynolds’ Mint Mobile, which was acquired by T-Mobile for a staggering $1.35 billion. MrBeast’s previous collaborations with T-Mobile suggest a potential partnership could be in the works. This initiative is part of a larger strategy for MrBeast to expand his brand beyond the confines of YouTube. Currently, his business ventures include Feastables, a snack company that reported approximately $250 million in sales and $20 million in profits last year, as well as a food enterprise named Lunchly. Additionally, he has launched a toy line and a reality show on Prime Video. Despite his massive YouTube following of over 430 million subscribers, MrBeast's media business faced an $80 million loss last year, according to Bloomberg. The introduction of a mobile company could serve as a significant step towards profitability while enhancing his engagement with fans. Furthermore, the investor presentation hinted that Beast Industries might also venture into fintech and mobile gaming, broadening the scope of their business. If successful, MrBeast’s entry into the telecom arena could solidify his status among the select few creators who have transformed internet fame into sustainable business empires.
