MrBeast reportedly plans to launch a phone company

MrBeast, the 27-year-old YouTube sensation renowned for his extravagant challenges and giveaways, is set to embark on a groundbreaking new venture: a mobile phone service. Reports from Business Insider suggest that he is planning to unveil this ambitious project next year, based on insights from a leaked investor presentation. In addition to the phone service, MrBeast and the executives at Beast Industries are exploring opportunities in fintech and mobile gaming. The proposed mobile service is expected to operate as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). This model enables MrBeast to deliver phone services by leveraging existing networks from major carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, thereby providing users with competitive rates without the hefty expenses associated with building a new network infrastructure. This venture aligns with strategies used by other celebrities, including Ryan Reynolds, who successfully launched Mint Mobile, later selling it to T-Mobile for approximately $1.35 billion. T-Mobile has already collaborated with MrBeast in the past, further strengthening the potential for this new mobile service. This expansion is part of MrBeast's broader strategy to diversify his brand, which already includes food businesses like Feastables and Lunchly, as well as a toy line. The new phone service could play a crucial role in driving profitability for his multifaceted business. Despite boasting an impressive 430 million subscribers on YouTube, MrBeast’s media operations have yet to be financially lucrative. Last year, his food venture, Feastables, achieved around $250 million in sales with over $20 million in profits, while his media business, which encompasses his YouTube channel and a reality competition series on Prime Video, faced losses nearing $80 million.
