Motorola is set to enhance its premium mid-range lineup in India with the much-anticipated launch of the Motorola Edge 70 today, December 15. This ultra-slim device is positioned as a successor to the popular Edge 60, emphasizing design, camera capabilities, and durability alongside cutting-edge software and AI enhancements. The Edge 70 will be available for purchase through Flipkart, Motorola's official website, and various offline retail outlets across the nation. Buyers can choose from three stylish color options: Lily Pad, Gadget Grey, and Bronze Green. Maintaining the signature design language of the Edge series, the Edge 70 features a distinctive squiricle-shaped rear camera module complemented by a vegan leather finish. At a mere 5.99mm in thickness, it ranks among the slimmest smartphones in its category. Despite its sleek appearance, the device meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability standards, ensuring it can withstand tough conditions. Additionally, it is expected to boast IP68 and IP69 ratings, providing robust protection against dust and water, including resistance to brief submersion and high-pressure water jets. The front display is likely to be safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. On the display front, the Edge 70 is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen featuring a 1.5K resolution and peak brightness reaching up to 4,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright sunlight. Furthermore, it supports Dolby Atmos, promising an immersive audio experience for users enjoying media content. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the smartphone’s triple-camera setup, which includes a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, with a third rear camera complementing the array. The front-facing camera also features a 50MP quad-pixel setup, allowing for high-quality selfies. Motorola claims that the Edge 70 will support 4K video recording at 60fps on all cameras, making it an attractive option for content creators. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, weighing in at just 159 grams. It is also projected to include a robust 5,000mAh battery with support for 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging capabilities. On the software side, the Edge 70 will run Hello UI based on Android 16, with Motorola promising three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches, ensuring that users stay up-to-date with the latest features and security enhancements.
