Motorola is set to introduce its latest smartphone, the Moto G96, in India on July 9. This device boasts a stylish vegan leather finish and a sleek curved back, positioning it to compete with other popular models like the iQOO Z10 and Realme P3 within the under-₹20,000 price range. The Moto G96 is equipped with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display featuring an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. Users can expect vibrant visuals with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, all protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 5. True to Motorola's reputation, the G96 will also carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, indicating it can withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for half an hour. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is also found in devices like the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus and the Poco X6. In terms of photography, the Moto G96 is set to feature a 50MP Sony LYT-700C primary camera, complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, a 32MP front-facing camera will be included. The device is expected to run on Motorola's Hello UI, based on Android 15. While there are no official details regarding the update cycle, previous patterns suggest that users could receive three years of operating system updates and four years of security patches. Equipped with a robust 5,500mAh battery, the Moto G96 supports 68W wired fast charging. However, details on wireless charging capabilities remain unconfirmed. Given the projected pricing, it seems unlikely that this feature will be included. Additionally, the phone will feature a plastic frame and an in-display fingerprint scanner for convenient unlocking.
