Motorola Edge 70 confirmed to debut in India on 15 December

Motorola has officially announced the launch of its latest mid-range smartphone, the Edge 70, set to hit Indian markets on December 15. This new device will be available for purchase on Flipkart, Motorola’s official website, and various retail outlets across the country. The Edge 70 boasts a sleek design reminiscent of previous models in the Edge series, featuring a unique squiricle camera module and a stylish vegan leather back. With a remarkably thin profile of just 5.99mm, it competes with other ultra-slim devices like the Galaxy S25 Edge and Tecno Pova Slim. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple-camera setup, which includes a 50MP primary camera alongside a 50MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the front camera is also a robust 50MP quad pixel shooter. Notably, all three cameras are capable of recording 4K video at 60fps. The smartphone is equipped with a vibrant 6.7-inch AMOLED display featuring a 1.5K resolution and an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Motorola has also integrated Dolby Atmos support and ensured military-grade durability with MIL-STD-810H certification. The Edge 70 is designed to withstand water and dust, boasting an IP68 and IP69 rating, which allows it to endure submersion in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. In terms of design, the device will come with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and will be offered in three attractive color options: Lily Pad, Gadget Grey, and Bronze Green. Powering the Edge 70 is a robust 5,000mAh battery that supports a rapid 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Running on Motorola's Hello UI based on Android 16, the company promises three years of operating system updates and four years of security patches for users. Additionally, the Edge 70 will feature advanced AI capabilities like Circle to Search, Magic Eraser, and Magic Editor, alongside Smart Connect 3.0, enabling users to mirror their phone on a PC or stream YouTube on their smart TV. With the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and a lightweight design at just 159 grams, the Edge 70 is poised to be a compelling option in the mid-range segment.
