The highly anticipated Motorola Edge 70 Ultra is making headlines as new leaks reveal its potential specifications and features. Positioned as the successor to the Edge 50 Ultra, which debuted in India in June 2024, this latest smartphone promises significant enhancements in performance. According to a tipster on Weibo, known as Panda is Bald, the device, referred to as the Moto X70 Ultra in China, is expected to launch globally under the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra branding. It is likely to come in several color options, including black, green, and bronze. One of the most notable upgrades is anticipated in the processing department, as the phone is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm's cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This new chip, with a 3nm architecture, was announced on November 26 and represents a significant advancement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip featured in its predecessor. The Edge 70 Ultra is also expected to boast a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. While this remains impressive, it may be a slight downgrade from the Edge 50 Ultra, which offers a 144Hz refresh rate on its pOLED display. Currently, details about peak brightness and protective glass for the new model have not been disclosed, both of which were key features of the previous version. On the camera front, the leaked specs suggest a versatile triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. While this arrangement offers flexibility, it does appear to limit zoom capabilities compared to the 64-megapixel telephoto camera found in the Edge 50 Ultra. Information regarding video recording capabilities and front camera specifications remains unconfirmed. Recent renders suggest that the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra could feature a textured rear panel with a square camera module located at the top left. The power and volume buttons are visible on the right edge, while an additional button has been spotted on the left side, although its function is yet to be revealed. As of now, Motorola has not announced an official launch date or confirmed specifications for the Edge 70 Ultra, but more information is expected to surface as the release date approaches.
