Minecraft 1.21.9 Release Candidate fixes key bugs, available via snapshots

Mojang has unveiled what may be the concluding release candidate for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.9. This significant update is part of the team's efforts to finalize the upcoming patch, aimed at ensuring a seamless launch for the full version. If no additional issues are found, this release candidate will pave the way for the official 1.21.9 update to be rolled out globally. In their announcement, Mojang stated, "Happy mining!" alongside the release details. The current release candidate addresses several bugs identified in earlier versions, including a problem where creatures could spawn even when the 'spawnMonsters' game rule was disabled (MC-302243), as well as a visual glitch affecting the appearance of conduit textures (MC-302278). Players interested in experimenting with the release candidate can do so through the Minecraft Launcher by enabling snapshots in the 'Installations' tab. However, Mojang cautions that testing versions may lead to the corruption of game worlds, advising players to back up their data or test the update in a separate folder distinct from their main gameplay. For those running servers, the cross-platform server jar is also available, facilitating multiplayer testing of the new update. Mojang encourages players to report any bugs they encounter via the official Minecraft Issue Tracker, and to provide feedback through the Feedback site or the official Minecraft Discord community. As the 1.21.9 official release approaches, this release candidate serves as a final chance for players to contribute to enhancing the game experience. In related news, during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show livestream, Microsoft and Playground Games announced Forza Horizon 6, the next installment in the popular open-world racing series. The game will take players to Japan, a long-requested location by the franchise's fans.
