Midi Health, a pioneering startup in women's health, has successfully secured $50 million in a Series C funding round, as reported by Business Insider. This latest round, led by Advance Venture Partners, elevates the startup's total funding to approximately $150 million. Co-founder and CEO Joanna Strober confirmed the funding increase, revealing that Midi's projected revenue run rate has surged to $150 million, a significant rise from $60 million at the end of 2024. This run rate suggests that if current performance trends continue, the company could generate substantial revenue in the following year. Since its inception in 2021, Midi has emerged as a frontrunner in the menopause-focused healthcare sector, indicative of a broader shift in how midlife women's health issues are addressed. Companies are increasingly including menopause care in employee benefits, with venture capitalists investing heavily in this space. Celebrities are also amplifying the conversation, helping to bring this once-taboo topic into the public eye. The startup caters to approximately 20,000 women weekly, a figure that has doubled since January. Its offerings include personalized care through hormonal and non-hormonal treatments, blood and genetic testing, lifestyle coaching, and supplements. In addition to expanding its services, Midi has recently introduced a new longevity program and is developing an AI-driven search engine tailored for women's health needs, which aims to provide reliable and up-to-date information amidst concerns over the accuracy of existing medical search tools. The $50 million investment marks Advance Venture Partners' inaugural stake in Midi, which has previously attracted funding from notable investors, including Emerson Collective and GV. While specific valuation details remain undisclosed, past reports suggest that Midi's valuation ranged between $300 million and $310 million during its last funding round. Strober emphasized the importance of menopause education as a foundational aspect of Midi's business model. The increasing attention from celebrities, regulators, and investors highlights a growing recognition of women's health issues. Noteworthy initiatives include the FDA's recent panel addressing menopausal hormone therapies, where experts advocated for relaxed warning labels on low-dose estrogen treatments. Additionally, Midi is venturing into longevity with its AgeWell program, aimed at preventing health issues such as cardiovascular disease and cancer while enhancing brain and bone health. This initiative is reportedly the first of its kind focused specifically on women and is part of a larger trend in the healthtech industry, which has seen significant investments in longevity research. As Midi continues to grow, it faces competition from various startups in the women's health sector, including Maven Clinic and Elektra Health, as well as major players like Amazon's One Medical. Strober indicated that the new funding will primarily support technology development, including the AI search tool, and enhance the training protocols for healthcare providers, crucial for effective menopause care. Despite currently operating without a CFO following the departure of Brandon Poe, Strober remains optimistic about the company's path to profitability. She expressed her commitment to building a sustainable business focused on women's health, rather than seeking acquisition by larger entities.
