Copilot is ‘for entertainment purposes only,’ according to Microsoft’s terms of use

The company explicitly stated, "Copilot is for entertainment purposes only. It can make mistakes, and it may not work as intended. Users are advised not to rely on Copilot for important advice and to proceed at their own risk." In light of these concerns, a Microsoft representative informed PCMag that the firm plans to update its terms to better reflect the current capabilities of Copilot, which have evolved significantly since the original language was drafted. Notably, Microsoft is not alone in providing such disclaimers. Other AI developers, including OpenAI and xAI, have also warned their users about the limitations of their respective models, advising against treating the outputs as definitive truths or sole sources of factual information.
