Despite officially ending support for Windows 10 last month, Microsoft has recognized the operating system's continued popularity and is providing Extended Security Updates (ESUs) for eligible devices for up to three more years. For users of Windows 10 PCs, securing an additional year of updates is generally a straightforward process. However, some bugs that were initially reported by Windows Latest created obstacles for certain devices trying to enroll in the ESU program, hindering their access to crucial updates. Enrollment in the ESU program must be done manually for each Windows 10 PC, which meant that any issues with the enrollment process directly impacted the delivery of vital security updates. In response to these challenges, Microsoft has released an update for Windows 10 version 22H2 (KB5071959) this week. This update addresses the specific problem where the enrollment wizard may fail during the process. The new update is being made available to all Windows 10 PCs, regardless of their enrollment status in the ESU program. This ensures that affected customers can receive essential security updates without further complications.
