Microsoft is officially killing its Outlook Lite app next month

Microsoft has announced the impending closure of its Outlook Lite app, set for May 26. This lightweight version of the popular Outlook application was specifically created for Android devices with limited storage capacity and for users in regions experiencing slower internet speeds. Initially launched in 2022, Outlook Lite was intended to cater to a niche audience, but the tech giant revealed last year that it would be phased out, with plans to remove it from the Google Play Store by October 2025. However, recent updates confirmed that the app will cease to function for current users as soon as next month. In light of this transition, Microsoft advises Outlook Lite users to migrate to Outlook Mobile to maintain a secure and feature-rich email experience. Users will still have access to their emails, calendar events, and attachments by logging into Outlook Mobile. Additionally, they will be prompted to download the full Outlook app from the Google Play Store.
