Meta has officially revealed its latest innovation in smart eyewear, collaborating with Oakley to launch a new line of smart glasses. Marking a significant upgrade, these glasses boast double the battery life compared to the previous Meta Ray-Bans and can capture stunning 3K video. Designed with athletes in mind, the new model, Oakley Meta HSTN, features a stylish design and comes adorned with gold accents, priced at $499. Preorders will begin on July 11, while additional models in the collection will start at $399 and are set for release later this summer. Equipped with a front-facing camera, open-ear speakers, and microphones, these glasses allow users to enjoy music, capture photos, and handle calls with ease. With the integration of Meta AI, users can interact with the device by asking questions like, "Hey Meta, how strong is the wind today?" or request it to record a video. The AI also offers translation services and can provide information about the user's surroundings. The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses provide impressive functionality, lasting up to eight hours of typical use and 19 hours on standby. They can also achieve a 50% charge in just 20 minutes, thanks to their convenient charging case that offers an additional 48 hours of battery life on the go. Available in six distinct frame and lens color combinations, including options with Oakley’s Prizm Lens technology for improved visibility in varying conditions, these glasses are compatible with prescription lenses at an additional cost. The Oakley Meta HSTN will be available across several regions, including the US, Canada, UK, and various European countries. Meta also plans to expand availability to Mexico, India, and the UAE later this year. This launch continues Meta's ongoing partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Oakley and Ray-Bans, which has already seen over two million pairs of Meta Ray-Bans sold.
