At the annual Connect event, Meta has officially launched the second generation of Ray-Ban glasses, introducing a host of impressive upgrades. These new specs feature enhanced cameras, hands-free live-streaming capabilities, improved microphones, real-time translation, and integration with Meta AI. One of the standout features of the 2nd Generation Ray-Ban glasses is their ability to record videos in stunning 3K Ultra HD quality, boasting ultrawide HDR and more than double the pixel count of the earlier version. Meta has also announced upcoming features for the glasses, including hyperlapse and slow-motion filming options that will be available later this year. Battery performance has seen significant improvements, with the new glasses offering up to eight hours of typical usage, compared to just four hours with the previous generation. Additionally, the glasses can reach a 50% charge in mere minutes and come with a charging case that provides an extra 48 hours of battery life on the go. A noteworthy new feature, dubbed Conversation Focus, aims to enhance communication by amplifying the voice of the person wearing the glasses, making it easier to hear in noisy environments. While this feature will not be available immediately, users can expect it to be rolled out through a software update in the near future. In terms of language support, the updated Ray-Ban glasses now offer live translation for more languages, including German and Portuguese. This feature allows users to participate in conversations across six different languages, even in Airplane mode, provided they have downloaded the necessary language packs beforehand. The new Ray-Ban Meta glasses are available in a wider variety of styles, including the classic Wayfarer, alongside new designs like Skyler and Headliner. Priced at $379, these glasses can be purchased in most countries where the original model was sold. However, customers in India will have to wait, as Meta has announced that the new glasses will be available later this fall.
