Meta has introduced two innovative models of AI-integrated Ray-Ban smart glasses, tailored specifically for everyday wearers. These new glasses cater to individuals who require prescription lenses, thereby enhancing both practicality and accessibility for users. This move aligns with Meta's vision of evolving its tech-focused eyewear into a versatile all-day accessory. The new prescription glasses come in two distinct styles: the Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and the Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2). Each style offers various lens options, including single-vision, progressive, and transition lenses. Meta emphasizes that these glasses are designed to accommodate diverse face shapes, featuring overextension hinges that provide an additional 10-degree rotation, customizable nose pads, and adjustable temple tips for a personalized fit. The Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics boasts impressive smart features, including a 12MP camera capable of capturing photos and recording videos up to 3K resolution. With a sophisticated six-microphone system, users can enjoy crystal-clear calling, and an action button is included to activate Meta AI for quick assistance. Both the Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer and Scriber Optics models are priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 41,500) in the United States and will be available in select markets, including the UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, and the UAE, starting April 14. In addition to the new eyewear, Meta has announced exciting updates to its AI capabilities. A forthcoming software update will introduce a nutrition tracking feature, enabling users to log their meals using voice commands or quick snapshots. This feature will allow Meta AI to extract essential nutritional information, enhancing user awareness and promoting healthier eating habits. Moreover, users can look forward to hands-free WhatsApp summaries, which will provide concise recaps of conversations or information shared within the app. Initially, this feature will be available through the Early Access Program (EAP) for Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. Lastly, the new Neural Handwriting feature will enable users to write on any surface with their fingers, offering a silent way to respond to messages across various platforms, including Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native Android and iOS messaging apps.
