Meta has launched an innovative Gaming Accelerator program in India, targeting the nation's small and medium-sized game developers and studios. This initiative, revealed during the Meta Marketing Summit – Gaming Edition, aims to create new growth avenues in India’s rapidly evolving gaming landscape. In collaboration with four prominent venture capital firms—Bitkraft Ventures, Kalaari Capital, Lumikai Fund, and Elevation Capital—the accelerator will initially assist 20 to 30 promising Indian developers. The program features a specialized curriculum that emphasizes monetization strategies, user acquisition, global market expansion, and the integration of artificial intelligence. Meta representatives highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “As India’s gaming scene undergoes a significant transformation driven by mobile access, creator influence, and emerging technologies, we aim to provide structured support and pathways for meaningful growth to developers.” A key focus of the program will be on helping developers utilize Meta's AI tools, including the advanced language model Llama, to enhance game development and player engagement. The accelerator will provide a range of resources, including: - Training on ad monetization and integrating with Meta platforms through Meta Ads and Audience Network - Strategy workshops for effective player acquisition and campaign management - In-depth sessions on AI tools for personalization and gameplay enhancements - Mentorship on fundraising and business modeling from experienced VC partners - Guidance for international market entry and cross-border expansion. The initiative will culminate in a Demo Day, where participants will present their innovative games and growth narratives to investors, Meta executives, and the larger gaming community. Top-performing studios could gain further visibility within Meta’s ecosystem and the possibility of additional funding. Arun Srinivas, Managing Director and Head of Meta India, remarked, “India’s gaming community is a wellspring of creativity and innovation. To unlock its full potential, we must connect talent with opportunity. The Meta Gaming Accelerator is designed to equip developers with cutting-edge tools, expert mentorship, and essential guidance needed to scale their businesses and compete on a global stage.” Meta's initiative is part of its broader agenda to enhance India’s digital economy, foster creative talent, and promote tech-driven entrepreneurship. Anuj Tandon, Partner at BITKRAFT Ventures, emphasized the need for collaboration within the ecosystem to support small and medium gaming enterprises, while Vamshi Reddy from Kalaari Capital noted that timely guidance and strategic resources are pivotal for emerging companies to overcome challenges and achieve success. Salone Sehgal, Founder of Lumikai Fund, highlighted the strategic partnership as essential for ensuring that portfolio companies receive the necessary support to master effective user acquisition and retention strategies.
