Meta brings AI support assistant for faster Facebook and Instagram fixes

Meta has launched its new AI support assistant across Facebook and Instagram, offering users around-the-clock assistance with account settings, profiles, and app functionalities. This innovative tool aims to enhance user experience by providing immediate support and is complemented by AI-driven content enforcement to better identify and mitigate harmful content and scams. According to an announcement from Meta, the AI support assistant is designed to address various account-related inquiries at any time. This feature is now available globally on the Facebook and Instagram apps for iOS and Android, as well as on desktop through the Help Centre. The company emphasized that the AI assistant can respond to user requests in under five seconds, significantly quicker than traditional support methods. Users can utilize the assistant for a range of queries, including adjusting notification settings, navigating new features, managing privacy settings, and resetting passwords. Additionally, the AI tool can assist in reporting scams, impersonation accounts, and other problematic content. Furthermore, Meta is introducing processes for users to regain access to their accounts through this AI support, initially rolling out in the United States before expanding globally. In tandem with the AI assistant, Meta is implementing advanced AI systems for content enforcement across its platforms. Early tests have shown promising results, with notable improvements in the detection of scams and harmful content. The company reported that its AI has helped identify approximately 5,000 scam attempts each day, reduced celebrity impersonation reports by more than 80%, and enhanced the accuracy of flagging adult content by 60%. These AI-driven solutions also play a crucial role in combating account takeovers and fake websites by analyzing patterns in user behavior. Meta is committed to ensuring that these measures are effective in languages spoken by the vast majority of internet users. The company stated that it can quickly adapt its capacity to understand cultural nuances, including rapidly evolving slang, emoji meanings, and region-specific jargon.
