Meta AI app rolls out Instagram Reels-style ‘Vibes’ feed for AI-generated short videos

Meta has unveiled a significant update to its Meta AI app, introducing an exciting feature called Vibes. This new feed focuses on AI-generated short-form videos, providing users with a unique platform to discover creative inspiration and engage with AI media tools. Accessible via both the Meta AI app and the website meta.ai, Vibes aims to foster community interaction and content sharing among friends. As users navigate through Vibes, they will encounter a tailored stream of AI-generated videos curated from various creators and communities. The platform is designed to become more personalized over time, adapting to user preferences. If a video catches a user's eye, they have the option to remix it, create something entirely new, or modify their own content using Meta’s comprehensive suite of tools. Features of the Vibes feed include the ability to layer visuals, incorporate music, and customize styles according to individual tastes. Users can also remix existing videos and share their creations across Vibes, Instagram, or Facebook Stories and Reels. Notably, if an AI-generated video appears on Instagram, users can seamlessly transition to the Meta AI app for remixing, enhancing the cross-platform experience. Meta has highlighted that the Meta AI app continues to be a central hub for managing AI glasses, capturing photos and videos, and leveraging the Meta AI assistant for creative ideas and inspiration. Furthermore, the company has announced plans to develop more advanced AI video creation tools in collaboration with visual artists, set to be introduced in future updates. In their announcement, Meta expressed enthusiasm for the updates, stating, "These enhancements are just the latest in our AI video initiatives. We’re eager to see what you create and look forward to your feedback to improve our AI video tools together." With the launch of Vibes, Meta is clearly stepping into the realm of AI-driven short video creation, merging the viral appeal of TikTok-like feeds with innovative generative media capabilities, and expanding its portfolio of AI-first creative tools.
