In a significant move, Meta has announced the appointment of Aman Jain as its new head of Public Policy in India, effective early next year. Previously serving as the Director of Public Policy at Amazon, Jain brings over two decades of experience in public policy and business strategy to his new role. As part of the India leadership team, Jain will report directly to Simon Milner, the Vice President of Policy for the Asia Pacific region. His primary responsibilities will include steering Meta's policy strategy and fostering engagements in India, particularly as the government refines its technological and artificial intelligence strategies. Jain’s career includes a notable tenure at Google, where he held various senior positions over more than seven years. Milner expressed enthusiasm about Jain's onboarding, stating, "I’m pleased to welcome Aman as Head of Public Policy in India. His extensive experience in public policy and technology will help Meta be an even more effective partner to regulators and industry stakeholders in developing an enabling policy environment." This appointment comes as Meta continues to restructure its global teams, aiming to enhance its AI capabilities. The company is actively recruiting top-tier AI researchers and engineers from competitors such as OpenAI, Google, and Apple, often with lucrative compensation packages.
