Marvell stock surges 18% as CEO points to continuing AI demand: 'Do you see me blinking?'

Marvell Technology experienced a remarkable 18% surge in its stock price on Friday, following the release of impressive earnings and optimistic guidance. The semiconductor firm announced adjusted earnings of 80 cents per share for the quarter, surpassing analysts' expectations of 79 cents per share, according to data from LSEG. Additionally, the company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $2.2 billion, exceeding the predicted $2.1 billion. During the earnings call, CEO Matt Murphy confidently addressed analysts, stating, "Look at our results that we're guiding. Look at our outlook for this year. Look at our outlook for next year. Do you see me blinking? You don't." Murphy further conveyed that Marvell anticipates a steady acceleration in year-over-year revenue growth throughout each quarter of 2027. For the first quarter of 2027, the chipmaker projects revenue to reach $2.4 billion, with a margin of +/-5%, which is notably higher than Wall Street's expectation of $2.27 billion. In fiscal 2026, Marvell's revenue from data centers exceeded $6 billion, marking a significant 46% increase compared to the previous year. This growth underscores the company's strong position within the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence sector.
