Mark Cuban explains why he thinks AI labs can't immediately replace Lovable and Replit

During his discussion with Lovable CEO Anton Osika, Cuban expressed confidence in Lovable's distinctive offerings, suggesting that its additional services could safeguard it from being eclipsed by larger AI entities. Cuban pointed out that many are concerned about whether foundational models from tech giants would overshadow tools like Lovable and Replit. However, he highlighted Lovable’s localized data, which caters not only to startups but to any business aiming for growth. Osika elaborated on this transition, stating, "Initially, we were viewed as just an AI software engineer. Now, our users see Lovable as a partner, essentially as their AI cofounder." Cuban’s remarks came in the wake of recent discussions where developers compared various vibe-coding startups to Anthropic's Claude Code after its significant update. Founders and investors have raised concerns about the viability of their products against the rapid advancements from industry leaders like Anthropic and OpenAI. Lovable's leadership is also aware of this competitive threat. In a previous podcast, Lovable's head of growth, Elena Verna, noted that her primary apprehension lies not with emerging competitors but with the established giants in the tech world, stating, "The distribution power of these large companies is unmatched."
