On Friday afternoon, a significant outage affected several prominent online services across India, leaving users struggling to access essential platforms ranging from design applications to grocery delivery and trading services. The disruption was extensive, impacting well-known names such as Canva, Blinkit, Downdetector, Zerodha, Angel One, Zepto, and web hosting provider Hostinger simultaneously. Users of Blinkit encountered a frustrating in-app error message stating, "Something went wrong. Please try again later," accompanied by an error code. Similarly, those trying to access Canva were met with a stark white screen displaying a "500 Internal Server Error" and a Cloudflare footer, indicating potential issues with upstream hosting or routing. Interestingly, Downdetector, the platform typically used to monitor such outages, was itself experiencing intermittent accessibility problems. This added to the confusion, as many users were unable to check for outage reports, leaving them in the dark about the situation. The situation intensified when multiple brokerage platforms, including Zerodha and Angel One, also reported downtime. Users took to social media to express their frustration about being unable to log in or execute trades. Quick commerce platform Zepto displayed similar error messages, while Hostinger customers faced difficulties accessing their hosted websites and dashboards. Despite the widespread nature of the outages, Cloudflare has yet to release an official statement. The consistent appearance of "500" errors across various services suggests a potential infrastructure-related incident affecting multiple platforms that rely on similar hosting or security layers. As of now, companies have not provided thorough explanations for the outages. Some users have reported partial service restoration on specific platforms, while others remain unable to access their services. Canva acknowledged the issue on social media, stating, "CDN provider, Cloudflare, is experiencing an outage that's impacting Canva. We’re working with them to resolve this as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time." As updates continue to unfold, users are hopeful for a swift return to normalcy.
