
Mahindra has officially launched the XEV 9S, marking its entry into the electric vehicle market with a spacious 7-seater SUV that is built on the innovative INGLO platform. This new model is designed specifically for families, focusing on comfort, practicality, and cutting-edge technology tailored for electric driving. Unveiled in Bengaluru, the XEV 9S will be available in six distinct variants, with starting prices set at ₹19.95 lakh. Customers can begin booking the vehicle on 14 January 2026, with deliveries scheduled to start on 23 January 2026. The lineup features options equipped with either a 70 kWh battery or the higher-end Pack Three Above variant, which boasts a powerful 79 kWh battery and is priced at ₹29.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra is positioning the XEV 9S as a roomy alternative in the competitive SUV market, emphasizing its electric-first design. With the XEV 9S, we are expanding the boundaries of the EV segment.” Pratap Bose, Chief Design and Creative Officer, shared insights into the design philosophy: “Our goal in designing the XEV 9S was to evoke a feeling of stepping into a personal sanctuary while reflecting the vibrancy of modern India.” Mahindra claims that the XEV 9S offers the largest cabin space in its class, providing 4,076 liters of room across the first two rows and a generous 527-liter boot, along with a unique 150-liter front trunk. The SUV features a panoramic skyroof, large dashboard screens, premium upholstery, and a sound-optimized cabin with acoustic laminated glass. Key specifications of the XEV 9S include: - Choice of 70 kWh or 79 kWh advanced LFP battery - Lifetime battery warranty - Realistic driving range of up to 500 km - Fast charging capability from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes (DC) - Performance metrics featuring up to 210 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque - Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds - Top speed of 202 km/h The model also incorporates intelligent adaptive suspension and a sophisticated 5-link rear setup.
