Lucid Motors is set to roll out a significant software update for Gravity SUV owners in North America on Thursday, introducing the much-anticipated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionalities. This update is expected to enhance the driving experience by allowing seamless integration with mobile devices. Owners in Europe and the Middle East can look forward to receiving the update by late March. These smartphone mirroring features were previously available in Lucid's sedan, the Lucid Air. However, the company has been focusing on resolving various software challenges that have arisen with the Gravity SUV, prompting an apology from its interim CEO to affected customers. Recently, Lucid Motors has undergone significant changes, including the departure of several top software executives and a workforce reduction of 12%. Coinciding with the software update, Lucid Motors will also host an investor day in New York City, where executives will discuss their forthcoming mid-size electric vehicle platform, strategies for achieving profitability, and plans for launching a luxury robotaxi service in collaboration with Uber and Nuro.
