Lovable signs multi-year deal with Google Cloud to up usage 5x, source says

On Wednesday, Lovable, a rapidly expanding startup based in Stockholm, announced a significant multi-year partnership with Google Cloud that promises to transform its operational capabilities. This collaboration represents a substantial enhancement of Lovable's existing relationship with Google Cloud, although the financial details of the agreement have not been publicly disclosed. According to sources familiar with the arrangement, this deal will lead to a fivefold increase in Lovable's utilization of Google Cloud services, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence. As part of this expanded partnership, Lovable will gain enhanced access to powerful AI models, including Anthropic’s Claude, which is widely recognized for its efficacy in coding tasks, and Google’s own Gemini models. The strategic significance of the Anthropic component cannot be understated. In April, Google made a substantial investment of $10 billion into Anthropic, which included cash and compute credits, with the potential for an additional $30 billion should the company meet specific performance benchmarks. This investment was made when Anthropic was valued at an impressive $350 billion, just prior to a record-setting funding round that raised $65 billion and pushed its valuation close to $1 trillion. Lovable stands out as one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups, reportedly surpassing $400 million in annualized revenue as of February, with a remarkable $100 million increase in just one month, all achieved with a lean workforce of only 146 employees. The company claims to serve more than half of the Fortune 500 companies with its innovative products. Additionally, this partnership will integrate Lovable’s new agents into Google Cloud’s enterprise agent marketplace, specifically within the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery. This was first hinted at during Google’s significant cloud conference held in the U.S. in April. Furthermore, Lovable plans to work alongside Wiz, Google’s largest acquisition to date at $32 billion, which was finalized in March. This integration aims to enhance security by allowing Wiz to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities in real time. For Google, the rationale behind this collaboration is clear: by fostering the growth of both Lovable and Anthropic through major enterprise clients, it can generate revenue that supports its ambitious capital expenditures projected to be between $180 billion and $190 billion this year. The tech giant is also in the midst of executing an unprecedented $85 billion equity sale to help finance these initiatives, indicating a substantial financial commitment to its future growth.
