Life360, known for its family safety app, is stepping into the realm of pet technology with the introduction of its latest product, the Pet GPS tracker. This device is designed to conveniently attach to a pet's collar or harness, providing pet owners with real-time location updates for their furry companions, whether they be dogs or cats. The launch of the Pet GPS marks a logical progression for Life360, especially after its acquisition of tracking company Tile in 2021. Since then, Life360 has incorporated Tile's tracking capabilities into its app, enabling users to assign a Tile tracker to their pets. Priced at $49.99, the Pet GPS is the most expensive item in Life360's product lineup, yet it boasts a variety of features that pet owners may find beneficial. Among its key functionalities are geofencing alerts, which notify users if their pet crosses designated safe zones, as well as escape alerts that activate if a pet runs away. Additionally, the device connects users to a Pet Finder Network, allowing them to send out alerts to nearby community members if their pet goes missing. This alert includes essential information such as the pet’s name, photo, breed, and emergency contact information. With a community of over 88 million members, Life360 offers a robust network to assist in locating lost pets. The Pet GPS employs a combination of cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies to ensure accurate tracking, with location updates every 2 to 4 seconds when the pet is away from home. For added convenience, the device features a built-in light that can be activated via the app, making it easier for owners to find their pets in low-light conditions. It also includes a chime function, useful for calling pets back when they are taking too long outside or hiding in the house. Designed with durability in mind, the device has an IP68 rating, making it water-resistant, dustproof, and resistant to pet bites. The tracker comes with a charger and offers a battery life of up to 14 days. Additionally, a unique “Bluetooth Reserve Mode” can extend battery life to keep the tracker operational for as long as six months. Available in pink, navy, and black, the Life360 Pet GPS is now for sale in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand through Life360.com. To unlock all its features, users will need to subscribe to either the Gold plan at $14.99 per month or the Platinum plan at $24.99 per month.
