LEGO announces first official Pokémon building sets for 2026 launch

The LEGO Group has officially revealed its first-ever Pokémon building sets, created in partnership with The Pokémon Company International. Scheduled for a global launch on February 27, 2026, these sets will enable fans to construct and showcase iconic Pokémon figures using LEGO bricks. This inaugural collection draws inspiration from Pokémon's rich 30-year history, marking a significant milestone as the franchise makes its debut in traditional LEGO form. The initial offering includes five beloved Pokémon: Pikachu, Eevee, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, featured across three distinct sets designed mainly for display. Each set boasts poseable components and themed bases that enhance their visual appeal. Among the standout releases is the LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball set, which captures Pikachu in a dynamic pose as it emerges from a Poké Ball. The impressive 2,050-piece build comes with a striking black base resembling a lightning rod, complete with energy effects surrounding the open Poké Ball. A clever nod to Pikachu’s Pokédex number, 25, is cleverly integrated into the design. Builders will have the option to display Pikachu either in an action stance with the Poké Ball opened or seated with it closed. Another highlight is a comprehensive display set that features Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, showcasing a remarkable 6,838 pieces, making it one of LEGO's largest display builds to date. Each Pokémon in this set is articulated, allowing them to be exhibited individually or together on a shared base, which is adorned with thematic elements inspired by their respective environments. For those who pre-order the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set through PokémonCenter.com in the US, Canada, and the UK, a special LEGO Pokémon Kanto Region Badge Collection will be offered as a gift, subject to availability. In conjunction with the product launch, LEGO and Pokémon will host a digital scavenger hunt from January 12 to February 27. Participants are encouraged to uncover hidden clues across various LEGO and Pokémon digital platforms. Successful challengers will have the chance to win exciting rewards, including a grand prize trip to Pokémon XP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, along with exclusive access to Championship Sunday at the Chase Center and all three new LEGO Pokémon sets. A password necessary for the scavenger hunt will be posted on Pokemon.com starting January 26.
