Pixel 10 case leak hints at subtle design tweaks and hardware changes

The anticipation surrounding Google's upcoming flagship smartphone series, which is set to include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold, has intensified with recent leaks. A new report has emerged, shedding light on the design nuances of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro through a purported protective case leak. According to insights from Android Authority, the protective case originates from Thinborne, a reputable accessory manufacturer known for creating smartphone cases. This company has reportedly crafted cases for both the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro ahead of their official debut. The leaked design suggests that, while the new models may closely resemble their predecessors, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, there are significant adjustments in dimensions and hardware placements that hint at meaningful upgrades. The report indicates that a Pixel 9 Pro can fit into the case designed for the Pixel 10, implying a similar size between the two generations. However, the positioning of essential features, including port cutouts and the camera bar, reveals a different narrative. Visuals of the leaked case demonstrate a shift in the USB-C port and other bottom-edge components, indicating a redesign. In a departure from previous models, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are expected to showcase dual-speaker cutouts at the bottom. Moreover, the SIM tray, which has typically been found on the side or bottom edge, appears to have been relocated to the top edge in the new design. There are also signs that the rear camera system has undergone slight modifications. The case does not align perfectly with the camera bar of the Pixel 9 Pro, leading to speculation that the camera module on the Pixel 10 will be slightly larger. Additionally, the case partially covers the 5G antenna of the older model, further supporting the idea that external hardware elements have shifted sufficiently to necessitate a redesign. While these changes may seem subtle, they could potentially render existing Pixel 9 cases incompatible with the new Pixel 10 models, despite their outward similarities. The excitement surrounding these updates continues to grow as more information becomes available.
