Lava launches Play Ultra 5G gaming smartphone in India at ₹13,999

Lava has officially entered the gaming smartphone market with the introduction of the Play Ultra 5G, a mid-range device designed for gamers. Priced at ₹13,999 with available bank discounts, it will exclusively launch on Amazon starting August 25. This smartphone boasts a 6.67-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED display, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1000 nits, ensuring vibrant and smooth visuals for gaming enthusiasts. The device supports 10-finger multi-touch, catering to complex in-game controls. With an impressive AnTuTu score exceeding 700,000, the Play Ultra promises robust performance, enhanced further by MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology that optimizes frame rates and overall gameplay efficiency. In terms of design, the smartphone comes with an IP64-rated rugged build and is available in two stylish finishes: Arctic Frost and Arctic Slate. Users will enjoy immersive sound through dual stereo speakers, enhancing their gaming experience. For photography, the Play Ultra is equipped with a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor alongside a 5MP macro lens, while the front-facing camera is a 13MP unit for selfies and video calls. Its camera features include Night Mode, HDR, Portrait, Panorama, Slow Motion, Dual View Video, and Google Lens integration. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, allowing it to recharge from 0 to 100 percent in just 83 minutes. Lava claims that users can expect up to 45 hours of talk time and approximately 650 minutes of continuous YouTube playback. Running on Android 15, the smartphone also guarantees two major OS updates and three years of security patches. Additionally, Lava offers its Free Service@Home, providing doorstep service support across India. Sumit Singh, Head of Product at Lava International, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “The Play series is designed to offer exceptional gaming experiences in a compact, performance-oriented smartphone. With the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and a 120Hz AMOLED display, the Play Ultra delivers a competitive gaming experience, complemented by a powerful camera and strong performance. We aim to diversify our offerings and set new benchmarks in this segment.” The Lava Play Ultra is available in two configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage for ₹14,999 (or ₹13,999 with offers) and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage for ₹16,499 (or ₹15,499 after offers), with expandable storage options up to 1TB via microSD.
