Lava Play Ultra 5G with 6.67-inch AMOLED display launched in India at₹14,999

Lava, the homegrown smartphone manufacturer, has been on a roll with the launch of several budget-friendly devices recently. Their latest addition, the Lava Play Ultra 5G, aims to attract gamers with a compelling feature set, all priced under ₹15,000. This smartphone boasts a stunning 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, featuring a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Powering this device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, which works in tandem with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM to deliver a seamless gaming experience. Additionally, the smartphone is equipped with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. In terms of durability, the Lava Play Ultra 5G holds an IP64 rating, making it resistant to dust and capable of withstanding splashes and light rain—though it should not be submerged in water. The camera setup is equally impressive, featuring a 64MP primary lens paired with a 5MP macro sensor, and a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device operates on Lava's custom UI, which is based on Android 15 and promises a near-stock experience without ads or bloatware. Lava has committed to providing two years of OS updates and three years of security patches, ensuring that users can keep their device up-to-date. Powering the Lava Play Ultra 5G is a robust 5,000mAh battery, supporting 33W wired fast charging. The device is available in two configurations: the 6GB RAM/128GB model is priced at ₹14,999, while the 8GB RAM variant is available for ₹16,499. As part of its launch promotion, Lava is offering a ₹1,000 instant bank discount, effectively lowering the prices to ₹13,999 and ₹15,499 respectively. The Lava Play Ultra 5G will be available exclusively on Amazon starting August 25, in two attractive color options: Arctic Frost and Arctic Slate.
