Kohler, a leader in home goods, has introduced an intriguing new product known as the Dekoda. Priced at $599, this unique device attaches directly to your toilet bowl and is designed to capture images of the contents within. The Dekoda's primary function is to analyze these images to provide insights into your gut health and hydration levels, with the capability of detecting blood as well. Equipped with a rechargeable battery, a USB connection, and a fingerprint sensor for user identification, this device is positioned as a high-tech bathroom companion. Currently available for pre-order, shipments of the Dekoda are set to begin on October 21. In addition to the initial hardware cost, users will be required to subscribe to a service that ranges from $70 to $156, depending on the plan. For those concerned about privacy, Kohler reassures customers that the Dekoda's sensors are designed to focus solely on the toilet's contents. The company emphasizes that all data collected is protected through end-to-end encryption. Notably, Kohler is not alone in this market; a startup named Throne has also developed a similar toilet camera, highlighting a growing trend in health monitoring technology.
