Kevin O'Leary says he made an 'AI Kevin' — and that his wife soon won't be able to tell the difference

Kevin O'Leary, known for his role on 'Shark Tank,' has announced the creation of an artificial intelligence version of himself, playfully dubbed 'AI Kevin.' During an episode of the 'Iced Coffee Hour' podcast, O'Leary shared that he's been training this digital counterpart to mimic his speech and personality. O'Leary confidently stated that while his wife can currently differentiate between him and his AI clone, he predicts that soon she won’t be able to tell them apart. He mentioned that the only noticeable difference at the moment lies in the intonation of the AI's voice. Although he didn’t disclose the specific AI model in use, he revealed that it requires three days of listening to his voice to learn various tones, from casual greetings to more relaxed conversation styles. The venture into AI, however, comes with some reservations. O'Leary was asked if 'AI Kevin' could take over tasks such as responding to phone calls. He dismissed this notion, explaining that while AI excels in execution, the creative and spontaneous thinking that humans possess remains irreplaceable. He recounted a recent bike ride where a spark of inspiration led him to enhance a valuable Kobe Bryant trading card, a task that he believes AI would struggle to replicate. He pointed out the limitations of AI in creative endeavors, citing his ability to recognize 'AI slop' in student essays and noting that AI-generated music often feels predictable. O'Leary is not alone in his exploration of AI; other prominent investors, like Ray Dalio of Bridgewater Associates, are also developing their own AI versions, demonstrating a growing trend among business leaders to integrate AI into their professional lives.
