Katie Haun, a prominent figure in the investment landscape and former Andreessen Horowitz partner, has revealed that her venture firm has successfully raised $1 billion in new funds. Announced on Monday, this significant capital injection aims to bolster the firm’s commitment to investing in the crypto and blockchain sectors. The newly acquired funds will be strategically allocated to support startups at both early and later stages within the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystems. Notably, the investments will also target companies that focus on alternative assets, including commodities like gold, the agentic economy, and various financial services. Haun’s firm aims to deploy this substantial capital globally over the next two to three years, as reported by Bloomberg. Having departed from a16z in late 2021, Haun launched her own venture firm in 2022. Currently, her firm manages assets exceeding $2 billion, according to Pitchbook. Among its notable investments are Palmer Luckey’s Erebor Bank as well as the crypto finance startup Ellipsis Labs.
