Kash Patel’s clothing brand website shut down after reports it was hacked

The online store for Kash Patel's clothing brand, Based Apparel, was shut down on Friday following reports of a hacking incident. This alarming development was first highlighted by Straight Arrow News, indicating that the site had been compromised by cybercriminals aiming to infect visitors with harmful software. As of now, the Based Apparel website remains inaccessible. Concerns were initially raised by an X user named Debbie, who claimed the site was hosting malware, specifically an infostealer. This type of malicious program is notorious for infiltrating systems to capture sensitive information such as usernames and passwords. In response to the situation, a security expert conducted an analysis of the malware but details on the findings have yet to be disclosed. Attempts to reach out to Based Apparel for further information have been unsuccessful. TechCrunch also attempted to contact Patel via a previously used Gmail address, but no reply has been received. This incident adds to a troubling week for security within MAGA-affiliated businesses. On the same day, Trump Mobile, a provider associated with former President Trump, admitted that it had left sensitive customer data exposed online. This breach included names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, and order details, following alerts from a researcher about personal data exposure linked to their mobile devices.
