SiloS3 teaser turns back the clock to a greener past

The highly praised second season of Apple TV’s dystopian sci-fi series, Silo, concluded with a suspenseful cliffhanger, leaving viewers anxious about the fate of key characters. In an exciting development, the streaming platform has unveiled the first teaser for the upcoming third season, which takes us on a nostalgic journey into the verdant past of the silo community, centuries before the events of the series. Based on the acclaimed trilogy by author Hugh Howey, Silo is set in a self-sustaining underground city where the community’s recorded history spans just 140 years. The world outside is a toxic wasteland, glimpsed only on screens located in the silo's uppermost level. Within its confines, 10,000 residents adhere to a grim pact: anyone expressing a desire to 'go out' is granted their wish—sent outside in a protective suit to clean the cameras. Tragically, those who venture out seldom survive due to the lethal environment. The IT department, overseen by Bernard Holland (played by Tim Robbins), manages the few computers within the silo, while the mechanical department ensures power and life support systems remain operational. It is here that we were first introduced to the brilliant Juliette Nichols, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson. The silo also harbors forbidden artifacts, such as mechanical watches and electronics, remnants of a rebellion that occurred 140 years ago, which obliterated their historical records. The inaugural season kicked off with the shocking murder of Juliette’s partner, George (Ferdinand Kingsley), setting off a chain of dramatic events, and revealing Holland’s darker side. As the season reached its finale, Juliette embarked on a perilous journey outside the silo, discovering that theirs was just one of many such communities scattered across the desolate landscape. Her survival against the odds has left fans eager for what’s next in this gripping tale.
