JioHotstar poaches top tech talents from Google, Flipkart, CRED, and others for AI innovation

JioHotstar is making significant strides in its quest for innovation by recruiting top-tier technology professionals to enhance its product and engineering divisions. The platform has successfully onboarded experts from renowned firms such as Google, Flipkart, CRED, Amazon Pay, and Razorpay, alongside talent from Myntra, ShareChat, and Cleartrip. Notably, Shrinivas SG has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Discovery and Personalisation, previously serving as Director of Product at Flipkart. Joining him is Naveen Prashanth, who takes on the role of Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing, boasting experience from both Google and McKinsey. Another prominent addition is Abhishek Sharan, now serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering for Viewer Experience. He has an extensive background with Flipkart and Myntra, most recently leading engineering efforts at SuperMoney. For its advertising and monetisation strategies, JioHotstar has recruited Abhishek Varshney as Principal Engineer for AdTech, who has experience with CRED, Razorpay, and Flipkart. The hiring spree also includes talented professionals like Chandramauli Singh, formerly with ShareChat, and Nishant Paliwal, who has worked with Cleartrip, Flipkart, and Intel. This latest wave of recruitment underscores JioHotstar’s commitment to enhancing its platform’s personalisation, discovery, advertising, and viewer experience through advanced AI integration. In previous leadership appointments, David Zakkam has joined to spearhead analytics and data strategy, aiming to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the platform. Furthermore, the JioStar Group has named Stephen Bugaj as Senior Vice President of GenAI Content & Technology, focusing on the development of generative AI-powered content and innovations within the platform.
