At the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Jio introduced its latest JioBharat Phones, designed with a focus on safety for children, women, and seniors. These devices come equipped with features that prioritize security and connectivity, including location tracking and usage management, ensuring they meet the needs of vulnerable users. With a battery life of up to seven days, these phones are not only practical but also user-friendly. Starting at a price of Rs. 799, the JioBharat Phones are available for purchase through various platforms, including Jio Stores, JioMart, Amazon, and Swiggy Instamart. The JioBharat Phones aim to enhance family connectivity while providing tools for guardians to maintain oversight. The Usage Manager feature enables parents and caregivers to control who can contact their children or elderly relatives by blocking unknown numbers. Additionally, the location tracking function allows for real-time sharing of one’s whereabouts with trusted individuals, offering an extra layer of security. Jio emphasizes that these devices are particularly beneficial for elderly individuals, children, and women, providing them with peace of mind in an increasingly connected world. In tandem with the phone launch, Jio also announced the Jio AI Classroom, a complimentary foundational course on artificial intelligence, developed in partnership with Jio Institute. This initiative aims to democratize AI education, making it accessible to students throughout India via JioPC on set-top boxes, as well as on PCs, laptops, and smart TVs. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of AI, prompt engineering, and its practical applications, featuring video lectures, interactive assignments, and a capstone project that integrates AI tools. Jio stated that users of JioPC will receive added advantages, including access to advanced AI resources, a comprehensive learning roadmap, and a certificate upon completion from Jio Institute. Other participants will earn a digital badge that signifies their course completion. The four-week program begins with an introduction to AI, advancing through creative and communicative applications, and concludes with a hands-on project, equipping students with essential skills for the future.
