Jaguar Land Rover, the renowned luxury automotive manufacturer, has announced that it will not restart production at its U.K. factories for at least another week as it continues to deal with the repercussions of a recent cyberattack. The incident, which occurred in early September, forced the company to halt operations after hackers compromised sensitive company data, though specific details about the stolen data have not been disclosed. In a statement released on Tuesday, Jaguar Land Rover indicated that the suspension of production will remain in effect until at least Wednesday, October 1. However, the company refrained from guaranteeing a return to normal operations on that date, stating that the decision was made to provide clarity for the upcoming week while they work on a phased approach to restart production and advance their investigation. Francis Robertson-Marriott, a spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover, which is part of Tata Motors based in India, chose not to comment on whether a timeline for resuming production has been established. As the shutdown enters its third week, concerns are growing among suppliers about the potential financial impacts, with some expressing fears of bankruptcy due to the prolonged inactivity.
