In a shocking turn of events, popular streamer IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., is facing legal action stemming from an incident involving the viral humanoid influencer, Rizzbot. The altercation occurred during a live-streamed encounter in September, where Rizzbot, known for its comedic antics and substantial social media following, was reportedly subjected to physical harm by Speed. Rizzbot, which boasts over a million followers and has garnered an impressive 800 million views, is designed for entertainment and interaction. However, the creators of Rizzbot, Social Robotics, have filed a lawsuit claiming that Speed caused “irreparable damage” during their meeting. According to the legal documents obtained by TechCrunch, the livestream captured Speed punching Rizzbot multiple times, placing it in a chokehold, and even throwing it to the ground. The petition states that Speed was fully aware that such actions were inappropriate and could harm the advanced robot. It claims that these aggressive interactions resulted in Rizzbot suffering a total loss of functionality, with significant damage reported to its mouth and neck. The lawsuit details how critical components like the head cameras and sensory ports were rendered inoperative, leaving Rizzbot unstable and unable to perform. Seeking compensation for the damages caused, the petition indicates that Rizzbot's team has lost out on several lucrative opportunities, including anticipated appearances on CBS’s The NFL Today and collaborations with prominent content creators like MrBeast. "This incident has undoubtedly hindered Rizzbot's growth and financial prospects," the petition asserts, noting a drastic drop in viewership following the incident. Local authorities were notified, and a police report confirmed that the damages occurred without the owner’s consent. Social Robotics' attorney, Joel Levine, emphasized the need for accountability, highlighting that the live-streamed nature of the event leaves little room for dispute regarding the facts. As of now, Speed’s management has yet to respond to requests for comment, and the legal proceedings are still unfolding. In an unexpected twist, Rizzbot has humorously announced its return online, claiming to have received a complete overhaul after the incident. "Everything’s brand new except my Nike kicks and cowboy hat," Rizzbot stated, expressing optimism about future projects. The ongoing legal battle will likely draw attention as it unfolds, reflecting the intersection of technology, entertainment, and accountability in the digital age.
