Iran threatens Nvidia, Apple and other tech giants with attack

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has escalated its rhetoric, issuing threats against several prominent U.S. technology companies with a presence in the Middle East. This includes major players like Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Google, which the IRGC has labeled as 'legitimate targets' in response to ongoing U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran. In a statement released on Telegram, the IRGC announced that attacks on these companies would commence at 8 p.m. local time on April 1, urging employees to vacate their workplaces immediately for their safety. The group declared, "From now on, for every assassination, an American company will be destroyed," highlighting the gravity of their intentions. Alongside the previously mentioned firms, the list of potential targets includes Cisco, HP, Intel, Oracle, IBM, Dell, Palantir, JP Morgan, Tesla, General Electric, and Boeing, among others. This warning follows recent Iranian cyberattacks on AWS data centers in the region, which disrupted various applications and digital services in the UAE. In light of these threats, U.S. technology companies have been increasing their investments in the Middle East, particularly focusing on AI infrastructure, attracted by the region's low energy costs and available land. An Intel spokesperson reassured that the safety of their employees is a top priority, stating that the company is implementing measures to protect its personnel and facilities while closely monitoring the situation. Other companies on the list have been contacted for statements, but responses have been limited, with Google and JP Morgan choosing not to comment.
