iQOO 15 could debut in India soon, confirms CEO Nipun Marya: What to expect

Vivo's sub-brand, iQOO, is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15, which is expected to debut in China next month. This new model will replace last year's iQOO 13 and is likely to be one of the first devices equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Pre-reservations have already commenced through iQOO's official online store in China, signaling strong interest ahead of its official launch. Nipun Marya, the CEO of iQOO India, recently hinted at the imminent arrival of the iQOO 15 on social media platform X, confirming that the device will utilize the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Although the exact launch date for India has not yet been revealed, Marya's announcement suggests that Indian consumers may have access to the smartphone shortly after its initial release in China. The iQOO 15 promises impressive specifications, featuring a 2+6 core arrangement within the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, with two prime cores clocking in at 4.6GHz and six performance cores running at 3.62GHz. Additionally, the device will include iQOO's proprietary Q3 gaming chipset, enhancing its capabilities for gaming and multitasking. The upcoming smartphone is also rumored to showcase a stunning 6.85-inch 2K LTPO Samsung "Everest" display, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate. It may achieve a peak local brightness of 6,000 nits, full-screen brightness of 2,600 nits, and a remarkable 3,200Hz touch response rate. A standout feature could be its color-changing rear panel, adding an eye-catching aesthetic. In terms of photography, leaks suggest that the iQOO 15 will come with a triple rear camera system, highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom capabilities. Powering the device will be a robust 7,000mAh battery, supporting both 100W wired and wireless charging, in addition to an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The iQOO 15 is also expected to boast an IP68 or IP69 rating, ensuring dust and water resistance for added durability. With its official launch in China set for October and pre-orders already underway, the anticipation for an Indian release is on the rise.
