iFixit has conducted an in-depth teardown of the newly released iPhone Air, continuing their tradition of dissecting Apple’s latest devices. This latest teardown reveals intriguing insights, particularly due to the fresh design of the iPhone Air, which diverges from the conventional layouts seen in previous models. One of the standout features noted by iFixit is the strategic arrangement of key components. The entire logic board is situated at the upper portion of the device, while the bulk of the interior is occupied by a substantial battery. Remarkably, this battery is the same as that found in Apple's iPhone Air MagSafe battery pack, allowing users to interchange them with ease. This design choice not only enhances the device's repairability but also addresses previous issues encountered with earlier models, such as the infamous "Bendgate." In the past, pressure in the middle of thinner iPhones led to damage of the logic board. However, with the new design, the logic board is positioned where bending is less likely, while the larger battery adds an extra layer of durability against potential mishaps.
