A recent report from Moneycontrol highlights that initial pre-booking figures for the iPhone 17 in India have surpassed those of the iPhone 16 during its launch phase, suggesting a strong consumer interest. Analyst Upasana Joshi from IDC emphasized the impressive momentum behind the iPhone 17 series, noting that pre-booking numbers are already exceeding last year's figures for the iPhone 16. She anticipates this positive trend to persist throughout the upcoming Diwali quarter. Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models have sparked particularly high levels of interest, raising concerns about potential supply shortages in the early days following the launch. The enhancements in the iPhone 17 series are expected to accelerate upgrade cycles, affirming the device's status as a coveted item among Indian consumers. Tarun Pathak, research director at Counterpoint, added that the demand for the iPhone 17 is significantly stronger than it was for its predecessor. The inclusion of a 256 GB base variant offers better value than last year's model, while the Pro and Pro Max versions are attracting the most attention, especially the popular cosmic orange color option. With such a promising outlook, Apple appears on track to achieve stellar sales figures during this festive period, marking a significant milestone for the company as it continues to capture the hearts of consumers in India.
