As the launch of the iPhone 17 series approaches next month, the iPhone 16e is making waves with significant discounts across various e-commerce platforms. This price reduction has positioned the device as a compelling option for buyers looking around the ₹50,000 range. Originally launched in India in February at ₹59,900 for the base model with 128GB of storage, the iPhone 16e is currently available for ₹52,490 on Vijay Sales. Additionally, customers can receive an instant discount of ₹3,500 when opting for the HDFC Bank Debit or Credit card EMI payment method, effectively bringing the price down to below ₹50,000—an overall discount of about ₹11,000 from its initial launch price. On Amazon, the iPhone 16e is listed at ₹51,999, but it does not feature any flat discount offers at this moment. However, there is a cashback opportunity of up to ₹1,559 with payments made through an Amazon Pay ICICI Bank card. The iPhone 16e boasts a 6.1-inch Super Retina OLED XDR display, delivering a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, complemented by Ceramic Shield protection. At its core, the device is powered by the A18 chipset—crafted using a 3nm process—and features a 16-core neural engine, making it the most affordable option from Apple that supports its advanced intelligence features. In terms of photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 48MP primary camera with optical image stabilization and the ability to record videos at 4K 60fps. The front camera features a 12MP sensor with autofocus, also capable of 4K video recording. Despite the attractive discounts on the iPhone 16e, it may not be the best choice in its price category, considering the strong competition from Android devices such as the OnePlus 13s and iQOO 13, which offer compelling features in the ₹50,000 to ₹55,000 range. With the imminent release of the new iPhone series, it is anticipated that prices for the iPhone 16 and the impending discontinuation of the iPhone 15 will lead to further reductions. Major discounts for these models are expected during the upcoming Flipkart and Amazon Diwali sale, potentially bringing them closer to the ₹50,000 mark as well.
