Apple’s iOS 27 may bring AI writing tools, smart wallpapers, and more

Apple is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated iOS 27, just weeks before the WWDC 2026 event, where transformative updates are expected. Among the focal points of this year's conference will be enhanced AI functionalities, including an improved Siri experience, innovative writing tools, and advanced integrations with Google AI technologies. According to a recent report from Bloomberg, users can look forward to a suite of AI-driven writing tools in iOS 27. These features are designed to elevate the writing experience beyond mere text generation. A new keyboard option, "Write With Siri," is anticipated to assist users during the typing process. Additionally, a feature called "Help Me Write" may enable users to quickly compose or refine text. The update could also introduce an AI grammar checker, functioning similarly to existing tools like Grammarly, offering real-time suggestions for improvements in a user-friendly overlay. Another exciting addition expected in iOS 27 is a custom wallpaper generator, integrated into the Image Playground app. This enhancement will allow users to create unique wallpapers, building on the app's existing capability to generate custom emojis and images. Apple is reportedly developing sophisticated AI models to produce lifelike visuals, marking a significant upgrade for the Image Playground. Furthermore, the Shortcuts app is set for a major overhaul, allowing users to create personalized shortcuts through voice commands instead of tedious manual configurations. Once a task is voiced to Siri, the shortcut will be generated automatically, appearing in the app ready for immediate use.
