Apple releases iOS 26.4 update: Check out new features and upgrades

Apple has officially launched the iOS 26.4 update, introducing a range of new features and enhancements aimed at enhancing user experience. While the update does not focus on new AI technologies, it significantly refines existing functionalities and usability. Among the highlights of iOS 26.4 are the addition of eight new emojis, a revamped Apple Music interface, and various performance improvements. The update introduces 13 notable features that enhance the overall user interface and experience. In Apple Music, users can look forward to the beta version of the AI-driven Playlist Playground, which creates personalized playlists based on user descriptions. A new Concert tab has been added, enabling users to discover live shows from artists within their music library. Additionally, the app offers recommendations for new artists tailored to individual listening habits, as well as an “Offline Music Recognition” feature accessible through the Control Centre. The Ambient Music widget now enhances the Home Screen, providing a full-screen background for a more immersive experience. The update also prioritizes accessibility with the introduction of the Reduce Bright Effects feature, which minimizes flashing visuals during interactions. Users can now manage captions and subtitles directly through a dedicated icon while watching content, and the Reduce Motion feature has been improved to better limit Liquid Glass animations. Other additions in iOS 26.4 include the eight new emojis featuring designs like orca, trombone, and ballet dancer. The Freeform app receives powerful new tools for creating and editing images directly within the application, alongside a new library of ready-made content as part of the Apple Creator Studio. Users can now easily mark reminders as urgent via the Quick Toolbar or a long press, filter them in Smart Lists, select individual payment methods for Family Sharing, and enjoy improved keyboard accuracy.
