Apple has rolled out the stable update for iOS 26.2, granting eligible iPhone users access to a host of new functionalities. Among the standout features are enhanced safety alerts, reminder alarms, and the introduction of AirDrop codes. Notably, Apple has also incorporated a significant new feature designed to ensure users don’t overlook notifications. With iOS 26.2, users will discover the 'Flash for Alerts' option within the Accessibility settings. This feature allows the iPhone’s display to illuminate and pulse briefly when a notification is received. This becomes particularly useful when the Always On Display (AOD) is turned off, making it much more difficult for users to miss alerts, even when their devices are silenced. To activate this feature, users should navigate to the Settings menu, select Accessibility, and find the 'Hearing' section, where they will find 'Audio & Visual' options. From there, they can enable 'Flash for Alerts'. In addition to this, Apple has introduced the ability for users to customize the 'Liquid Glass' clock appearance on their lock screens. A new slider allows adjustments to the opacity of this feature, letting users choose between a frosted or more opaque look. Another useful addition is the AirDrop codes, which enhance security during file sharing. This feature requires a code displayed on the receiving device to be entered by the sender, making it safer to share data with unknown contacts. For users in the United States, iOS 26.2 also brings improved safety alerts that inform about imminent threats such as floods and natural disasters. These alerts include maps of affected areas and links to safety information, ensuring users are well-informed in emergencies. Lastly, a new feature allows users to set full-screen alarms for reminders, which will ring even when the device is in silent or Focus mode, as long as the reminder is marked as urgent. With these updates, Apple continues to enhance user experience and safety on its devices.
