New iOS 26 glitch is breaking photos shared from Android phones

The latest version of Apple's iOS, version 26, is facing a peculiar glitch affecting the display of photos shared from Android devices. Users have taken to social media platforms, particularly Reddit, to report that images captured on Android smartphones appear with an unintended red tint when viewed in the Apple Photos app. Reports have emerged from various users utilizing different Android models, including the Motorola Razr and Samsung Galaxy S24. Surprisingly, some iPhone users have also noted that photos taken with their iPhone 15 display similar issues when viewed on an iPhone 17. One user highlighted that not only do images turn red while zooming in, but they also shift to black and white when attempting to crop. Despite downloading the latest iOS 26.2 update, many users are still experiencing this frustrating issue. However, a temporary workaround has been shared within the community: by selecting the Edit option and then choosing ‘Revert,’ users can eliminate the red filter from their affected images. Nonetheless, a permanent solution from Apple is still awaited. Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the photo glitch, leaving users uncertain about when a fix might be implemented. This is not the first instance of complaints regarding iOS 26; shortly after its release, users expressed dissatisfaction with various issues such as performance lags, stuttering animations, app crashes, and battery drain. Additionally, the new Liquid Glass design introduced with iOS 26 has garnered mixed feedback, with some users finding it less readable and visually distracting. Following the rollout of the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air, Apple also admitted to a camera bug that obscured parts of images, which was subsequently addressed in a later update. In a related note, the company recently announced the resolution of over 20 security vulnerabilities in the iOS 26.2 update, including a significant permission flaw in the App Store that could potentially expose sensitive payment information. Other components affected included Icons, Messages, Media Experience, Screen Time, Telephony, and Photos. As Apple navigates these challenges, users are left hoping for timely resolutions to their concerns.
