Apple announced on Thursday that over 82% of eligible iPhones have successfully upgraded to its latest operating system, iOS 18. This figure marks a significant increase from 68% recorded in January. Unveiled last June during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), iOS 18 began its rollout in September 2024, compatible with models starting from the iPhone XR and XS. It's important to note that Apple aggregates all iterations of iOS 18 for this statistic, leaving the exact number of devices on the most recent version unclear. Additionally, Apple reported that 71% of eligible iPads are now utilizing iPadOS 18. The company highlighted that among iPhones launched within the past four years, more than 88% have upgraded to iOS 18, a rise from 76% in January. Similarly, about 81% of iPads released in that same period are running iPadOS 18. While Apple did not disclose specific usage figures for its Apple Intelligence feature, it is expected to unveil the next iOS version, potentially named 'iOS 26,' during the upcoming WWDC 2025 keynote presentation next Monday.
