URBAN, a prominent Indian technology brand, has unveiled what it touts as India's most compact 67W GaN (Gallium Nitride) charger, called the Lumen. This innovative charger is engineered for rapid and efficient charging while maintaining a sleek and travel-friendly design. The Lumen charger delivers an impressive 67W of power, allowing it to charge a variety of devices across iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS ecosystems. Its ultra-slim profile, comparable to that of a credit card, makes it ideal for users on the go. URBAN claims that this charger can recharge compatible smartphones and laptops up to four times faster than conventional chargers, all while minimizing heat generation and reducing its carbon footprint. With an introductory price of ₹1,799, the Lumen is available for purchase through URBAN's official website, as well as on popular platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, along with select offline retailers. It features both USB-A and USB-C outputs, enabling the simultaneous charging of two devices. Additionally, the charger comes with interchangeable plug heads for US, UK, and EU sockets, along with a detachable adapter, making it perfect for international travelers. The Lumen is compatible with a wide range of devices, including MacBooks, tablets, and smartphones. The charger can power MacBooks and iPhones to 60% capacity in just 30 minutes. Safety is a key feature, with BIS certification and built-in smart chip technology to protect against voltage fluctuations and overheating. Designed with a matte soft-touch finish and a minimalist aesthetic, the Lumen also boasts a foldable form factor for enhanced portability. Aashish Kumbhat, Co-Founder of URBAN, explained that the goal was to tackle the challenges posed by bulky chargers and slow charging speeds, all while ensuring a stylish and convenient solution. "With URBAN Lumen, we wanted to address the problem of users juggling multiple chargers, bulky adapters and experiencing slow charging on the move, without compromising on aesthetics and ease," he stated.
